International Procurement Agency b.v. has been contracted by the Department for International Development (DFID) of the UK government to support their programme “Tackling Visceral Leishmani”. Over the next few months, 6 batches of pharmaceuticals and diagnostics will be procured in West-Europe, and shipped to Sudan, South-Sudan and Ethiopia to support the implementation of this programme, which aims at reducing the spread of this neglected tropical disease. Visceral Leishmani disease is also known as Kala Azar, and spreads through infected sand-fly’s. Kala Azar is a potentially deadly disease.
